Hello everybody. I'm sorry I'm taking so long to post a new activity in the wiki, I hope to be able to post there tomorrow. Today, just after class, I had the chance to watch a film I had watched long ago and that made a huge impression on me. It's not in English, I think it's in Czech and Russian, but you can always watch it with subtitles in English. It's a hard movie, for it tells the story of a nuthouse in the middle of the war and what happens when the soldiers of one and other side arrive there. It's, at the same time, a sad and happy story: it shows us what's best and worst in our humanity. It's a story of hope. In one of the scenes Janna, the principal character, pleads: "Ahmed, I love you, don't kill me" then she turns around and sees the fire "Fire, I love you, don't kill me", and then she sees one of her friends lying on the mud "Mud, I love you, don't kill me" and she stands up and helps his friend. I believe it's both this madness and inocence of love towards the simple things what makes this life worth living. I hope you have the chance of watching this movie sometime, if you do, let me know your opinion. Helen.
P.D. The name of the movie in Spanish is "La casa de los Engaños"
P.D. II Hmmm.... don't watch it if you're sad, in that case I recommend "Stranger than fiction" (we might watch this one later in the lab)
